I would say yes, it is worse. I didn't like Fire because there was a lot of promiscuous sex. The first sex scene is in the second (maybe third) chapter. Most of the characters, including Fire, use sex as therapy for their issues resulting from their seriously dysfunctional childhoods. It was just a bit much for my personal tastes. I also thought that there was a lot of contradiction between how the author wanted Fire to come across and how she actually did come across.
