"So for that alone, for having double dates with Gen and Attolia and Eddis and Sophos all just being together being BAMFs, as Quark's icon so aptly says, for that alone, I loved this novel. Because in KoA we lost a lot of that, and I missed it terribly."
We had all those marvelous Gen and Attolia scenes in KoA, so I didn't miss anything. But I loved the interactions in this book, and especially that Attolia was the one to comfort Eddis when the realization of how much she loved Costis smashed down on her like a tidal wave.
And also the continuation of Gen and Irene's strange ways of showing how much they love each other - from "you have any mistresses and I'll cut off your other hand" to "If I didn't love you it wouldn't matter *how* many knives you kept under your pillow!"
And the goddess calling Sophos "Bunny."
And and and... I'm re-reading, I'll post more some other time!
