I REREAD THAT IN BRIT LIT TWO DURING OUR VERY FIRST CLASS (INSTEAD OF, SAY, PAYING ATTENTION TO THE LECTURE) AND ENDED UP CRYING AT THE END.

AGREE, ON EVERYTHING, SO HARD. I kept on skimming the modern bits, and mostly only paid proper attention whenever Septimus and/or Thomasina were involved.

THE ENDING, OH GOD, THE ENDING, IT HURTS SO GOOD. When I first finished the play, I sat there looking kind of dazed and mildly depressed, and my roommate asked what was wrong.

ME: OMG SEPTIMUS AND THOMASINA AND GORGEOUSLY TRAGIC ENDINGS LSDF:FLK.
LONG-SUFFERING ROOMMATE: Um, okay.
ME: Also, I kind of want to marry Septimus but oh god, this play is brilliant and hilarious except for when it's breaking my heart, and STOPPARD, YOU MAGNIFICENT BRILLIANT BASTARD.
LONG-SUFFERING ROOMMATE: ......
ME: ... this is one of my weird nerdy English major things, isn't it.
LONG-SUFFERING ROOMMATE: Um, yes.

I'm not sure what's more alarming: my weird nerdy English major things, or my weird nerdy pre-law things. I LIKE WORDS, OKAY.
