And I think that Anglo culture had a lot less of a check-and-balance than most cultures had, some getting lost in an industrialized, institution-driven culture. Women have figured out how to have power. Granted, on the individual level, some have suffered a lot in chauvinist cultures, but many tribal cultures had that power balance ingrained in their *economic structures*.
