THAT WAS DRIVING ME CRAZY I had "reassuring" and changed it to "reassured" because if I couldn't come up with anything else, I wanted to at least communicate that she had had an effect on him. But the fact that the words are so similar and so close detracts from that. *grumbles*
You know, and I added that line--well, I had the "ill-equipped to go crashing into the jungle" already--but I expanded it because I thought about the beach and said, "if she felt the need to follow him, she would." Of course, I'm attributing the need-to-follow-him as coming from more than the usual sources, but she wouldn't stop to think about it.
...I guess the idea is that he is looking at Honey, but he is not looking at her, in that "he wants to look at her, but isn't, but sort of is" way. Out of the corner of his eye. Wishfully. Thoughtfully. Thinking about her.
that's okay, next I have a "history of Honey and Mori's friendship culminating in this same sequence" or...culminating somewhere. about how honey never seemed to grow up, so mori went from being silent friend to silent caretaker and would do anything for Honey because he never really needed anything else--really, they're almost as bad as the twins, so I'll need to toe the line with what makes them difference (Mori's shy, for one thing, and not into using other people as toys just to keep himself amused--Honey does that for him--er, keeps him amused, that is). Hm...
I HATE RENGE-CHAN but I totally accept the compliment in the spirit it was given. :-D
