books I read

I READ SAVING FRANCESCA.
Also the Demon's Lexicon series and Team Human (which was surprisingly emotional at the climax and had some interesting characterization bits amid an otherwise shallow-but-entertaining read) and The Last Unicorn (which was beautiful and which I need to read in one sitting). I had to return all the others but I'll get them back, and I have Unspoken and The Marriage Plot and Code Verity
but
Saving Francesca
not only reminded me of how wonderfully lucky I have been in love
but also
just
so perfect.
flawless.
wonderful.
tightly plotted and everything is doled out at just the right moment and also it's hilarious and I care so much about all the characters and I'm so happy and
go forth and read it RIGHT NOW.

THIS IS MY I-TOLD-YOU-SO MOMENT AND I AM LOVING IT (also Brandy's!)
It is so, so fantastic. I don't even know how many times I've reread it. Now you need to read The Piper's Son.
And I can't wait til you read Code Name Verity.

Date: 2012-10-17 11:13 pm (UTC)I'm wondering, did you read On the Jellicoe Road? I loved that one, too, but my brother didn't like it as much as I did. One of the all time great first sentences...

Date: 2012-10-18 12:30 am (UTC)I'm so glad you liked it. This is actually my favorite Marchetta novel. So much so that when Chachic asked me to write a post for a Marchetta Madness event she had that's what I wrote it on. I also learned from that event that I'm in the minority when it comes to loving Will Trombal. What's wrong with people?
My love for these characters is why I like The Piper's Son better than Jellicoe Road (though it's good too).
