...okay to explain ship_manifesto is doing some kind of huge poll to celebrate their anniversary or something, and anyway the first two round 1s are closed but Zutara is currently facing Batman/Catwoman in round 2 holy crap it is close I beg you if you don't care about any of these things go vote for Katara/Zuko (match 16) BUT ANYWAY. (Not that Bat/Cat is not hot. But.)

These polls are, I'm assuming, matching up each and every ship that has a manifesto on the comm, and I am once again reminded that the internet is truly made up of weird people who sometimes Just Don't Get It. (Who on earth would vote for Bones/Spock? What about oldschool!McCoy is sexy? I mean, I love DeForrest Kelly, but please. And anyway Rory/Jess is OTP material, while Bones/Spock is clearly made up of the fangirls who don't want Kirk to be gay but still want their boy love* too.) It saddens me to see Spuffy go up against Blair/Chuck from Gossip Girl because the latter is a chocolate fudge ship for me and it is getting its ass whupped (rightly so, but the point is to pick the hottest ship and Blair/Chuck is still miles ahead of some of the others like Bones/Spock). SPIKE/XANDER IS BEATING RICK/EVIE FROM THE MUMMY WHAT THE HELL I have a special hatred for Spike/Xander because while the jokes were there...my general experience with the fandom ship is a complete OOC pairing and it gives me heebeejeebees.

Some of the races are close, like Katara/Zuko vs. Bat/Cat and Rogue/Gambit vs. Howl/Sophie (GAH IT PAINS ME), and Jessie/James is winning which amuses me, and also I voted for Ed Exley/Bud White (L.A. Confidential) because while I'm not entirely convinced of the hotness of that pairing, WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND THINKS LAURIE/AMY IS HOT? WHO WOULD SHIP THAT ASIDE FROM LMA? BECAUSE, FAIL, LMA. FAIL. seriously that pairing plus Jo/Professor traumatized me as a child
