and now they're making a movie out of The Eagle of the Ninth, by Rosemary Sutcliff?

HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS WAS HAPPENING?

I feel like this trailer gives a lot away; you could also watch the thirty-second spot and get just as much of an idea of what's going on.

I just want all of her books to be made into beautiful historical action movies.

Wait. Wait. That's based on a *Rosemary Sutcliff book?* The only thing I've read of hers is Sword at Sunset, BUT STILL! O_O

I knew this movie was coming out. I had no idea it was based on a book. That actually looks like it could be good. I think my little sister might be going to see it (for Valentine's Day, lol) so maybe she can tell me how it is.

/still needs to read some Rosemary Sutcliff.

Unfortunately it looks as though they completely changed the plot. And the characters.

Loving the plethora of american accents in ancient Rome.

The movie got a good review in the newspaper here, but it said the movie lacks all the lovely historical background of the book.

I loved that book so much!!

It does look as though the movie is completely different but I forgive everyone involved on account of the attractive men in Roman armor.

Planning to see it with a friend of mine, should be fun.

I am torn about this. I really love the book and I think they might have messed with it a bit more than necessary.

Ro told me this was in production ages ago and I'm glad it's ACTUALLY HAPPENING. Going to watch the trailer now.

I SAW IT!!!! It actually didn't seem that different from the book to me, but it's been probably 35 years since I last read it. I liked it!

I just saw it. It was much better than I expected and the trailer is totally misleading. They left out a lot and there seemed to be more gratuitous killing than I remembered (but should reread, not sure), but enjoyable. Lovely score. Jamie Bell is awesome.
