IT IS NATIONAL POETRY MONTH (repeats may happen this year from previous years but oh well) I HAVE TO GO TO BED BUT here is the poem I have been memorizing for the past few days (from my deep and abiding love, e.e. cummings, as if it wasn't obvious: )

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)

i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

I have been reading a lot of e.e. cummings lately. He's a deliciously graceful poet. Very deft.

I ADORE THIS POEM SO MUCH I CAN'T EVEN.

One of the choirs I'm in at school did this as a song by David Dickau. It's beautiful and I thought you might want to hear it. The third stanza was always my favorite part of the song :)

This is my second favorite poem in the entire world, nay, universe! My favorite is his one that begins, "i thank you god for most this amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees"
